About Us
To achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions goals set forth by many utilities, emerging zero-emitting technologies need to be developed. The Low Carbon Peer Group was founded in 2021 as a way for utilities to collaborate with each other and with vendors and OEMs. The overarching goal is to identify, prioritize and accelerate the deployment and adoption of low carbon firm (dispatchable) resources.
A coordinated, cross-functional evaluation of emergent technologies will allow utilities to execute on net-zero goals, while reducing costs and maintaining or improving reliability. Collaborating will ensure multiple peer utilities can have access to pilots, demonstrations and deployments across different regions and various technologies.

Mission Statement of the Low Carbon Peer Group
The mission of the Low Carbon Peer Group is to utilize industry strength to advance the development, adoption, deployment and sharing of information around various low carbon firm (dispatchable) resources. The group does not make preferences to specific technologies, recognizing that a mix of technologies is the best chance for success, and some technologies are not suitable for all geographical locations and make-up. Through sharing, the Low Carbon Peer Group aims to make it easy for utilities to gain experience of various technologies without having to individually deploy all potential technologies.
